ELLEN HAGAN - biography

Ellen Hagan is a writer, actress and educator. Skin This, her solo show will be produced by Spokenworks in March of 2004 in the ROAR Theatre Festival. Her work can be seen in Failbetter, La Petite Zine, nervygirl and forthcoming in Monologues for Women by Women. She is currently touring with a two- woman show, entitled, Becoming Woman, which has been funded by the Kentucky Foundation for Women (KFW) and the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts, and will be performed throughout Kentucky in the summer and fall of 2004. Over the past three years she has written, performed and self-published two solo shows, one which was also funded by KFW, and has self-published several books of poetry. Her solo work was recently showcased on Kentucky Educational Television.

Ellen holds an MFA in fiction from The New School University, and is working on a full- length novel entitled The Kentucky Notes/ Notes Home. She received a BFA in acting and a minor in English from the University of Kentucky. In addition, Ellen has studied both drama and playwriting at Goldsmith's University in London, England and has received additional training as a performer and writer at New York University's Tisch School for the Arts.
