Becoming Woman is a journey through puberty, first love, first kisses, heartaches, loss of virginity and relationships. Using monologues and spoken word to get our stories told, we discuss womanhood, our connection to the bluegrass and our hearts. This is a show about growing up, and by using humor, coupled with brutal honesty, we tell the stories of how we became women.

Becoming Woman is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud! It is a show that promises to take you back to the 80's, with bad fashions, bad haircuts and bad dance routines. It will take you back to puberty, no breasts, periods, big ears, big noses, and not fitting in. It will ride you through first kisses while parked underneath the stars, and take you through the love you have for your girlfriends, your mothers, and for the men in your lives. This show will make you remember the years of growing and becoming.

Becoming Woman is a fast-paced 50 minute show that combines monologues with spoken word poetry to create a non-stop performance that focuses on the process of becoming a woman. This show is appropriate for ages 12 and up, and has showcased at several high schools across the country, and men as well as women get an hour's worth of enjoyment and education from just being in the audience. You'll have a great time!
